Authors
Behind THE MISSING MESSIAH are two pastors and teachers who have spent their lives helping people see Jesus more clearly—not as a vague religious idea, but as real, reigning, and relevant.
Together, Mark Moore and Kyle Idleman bring decades of pastoral experience, biblical scholarship, and storytelling to help readers recover a bigger, truer vision of Jesus as Messiah.
This book is the overflow of their shared vision: to make the reality of Jesus unmistakably clear and deeply compelling for everyday people.
Kyle Idleman
Kyle Idleman is a bestselling author and the senior pastor of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky—one of the largest churches in America. Week after week, he preaches to a church family that spans multiple campuses and countless online viewers, where his primary focus is helping people encounter Jesus in a deeply personal way.
Kyle is widely known for his award-winning book not a fan., which has sold more than 1.3 million copies and sparked a movement among believers who want to move from “fans” of Jesus to fully devoted followers. He has also authored several other influential books, including: One at a Time, The End of Me, gods at war, Grace Is Greater, and Don’t Give Up.
For 25 years, Kyle has poured his life into serving, leading, and pastoring in the local church. Being “a church guy” is not just his job, it’s one of his greatest joys. He believes deeply in the local church as the body of Christ and continues to worship and serve alongside his church family each week.
God has given Kyle a unique passion for storytelling. Through his books, messages, and teaching, he helps everyday people see their ordinary moments—conversations, interruptions, meals, needs—as opportunities to notice and respond to the heart of Jesus, one person at a time.
Kyle and his wife DesiRae have four children and live on a farm outside Louisville, Kentucky, where, as he likes to say, he does no actual farming.
In THE MISSING MESSIAH, Kyle brings his gift for storytelling and real-life application, helping readers not only understand who Jesus is, but also see how His kingship changes the way we live, love, and follow Him in our everyday lives.
Mark E. Moore
As a teaching pastor at Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) in Peoria, Arizona, Mark Moore spends his weeks helping thousands of people open their Bibles and meet Jesus in a fresh way. Since joining CCV in 2012, he has been part of a church family that gathers across multiple locations in Arizona with more than 35,000 people in weekly attendance in addition to an ever-growing live-stream community.
Before stepping into local church ministry at CCV, Mark spent over two decades (1990–2012) as a professor at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. In the classroom and on campus, he invested in training future pastors, missionaries, and church leaders with a deep love for Scripture and a passion for the gospel.
Mark continues to serve as an online professor for Ozark and as an adjunct professor for Hope International University (Fullerton, California) and Haus Edelweiss (Vienna, Austria), extending his teaching ministry around the world.
Over the years, Mark has authored and co-authored numerous books, including the 5-part Core 52 series, The Master Leader, and various other books centered on the life of Christ, the book of Acts, and Revelation. His writing and teaching are known for making complex biblical themes understandable and for connecting first-century texts to twenty-first century lives.
Mark and his wife Barbara live in Peoria, Arizona, where they enjoy family, community, and a shared commitment to helping people meet Jesus.
In THE MISSING MESSIAH, Mark draws from a lifetime of studying Jesus in Scripture and history to help readers see what we’ve lost when we shrink Jesus down—and what we gain when we rediscover Him as Messiah and King.
Why They Wrote
THE MISSING MESSIAH
Both Kyle and Mark have seen an alarming pattern emerge not just in the United States, but across our entire modern-day world:
The truth of Jesus is becoming reduced, sidelined, and redefined. He’s being treated as a life coach, a genie, a political ally, or a religious accessory. Somewhere along the way, we’ve lost a clear, compelling, life-shaping vision of Jesus as the promised Messiah and rightful King.
Kyle brings the power of story and everyday application. Mark brings the depth of Scripture and history. Together, they wrote THE MISSING MESSIAH to help us:
Recover a bigger, truer picture of who Jesus really is, beyond culture and assumptions.
See how the prophecies, stories, and teachings of Scripture point to Him as Messiah.
Understand why His kingship is not just a doctrine to affirm, but a reality to live under.
Experience the hope, security, and purpose that come from living in allegiance to Him.
Their prayer is simple: that as you read this book, Jesus would become impossible to overlook—and that your life would be re-ordered around Him.
Pre-Order THE MISSING MESSIAH
